Shrink wrap is one of the best ways of protecting your boat during winter storage. Shrink wrapping your boat provides protection from snow and ice during the cold winter months. Shrink wrap helps to keep your boat warm so that any snow and ice will melt and slide off. It also keeps your boat dry on even the worst winter days.

Shrink wrap is available in three colors: white, blue and clear. In lower Michigan, white is the most popular and what Brookside Storage will usually provide to our customers. Colder climates tend to use blue shrink wrap as it heats up better than white shrink wrap. When the sun is shining, the blue shrinkwrap provides better shedding of ice and snow. Clear shrink wrap is usually not used for storing a boat during the winter. Clear shrink wrap is usually used in boat sales and live aboards when much light is needed.

Brookside Storage has shrink wrapped many boats. We will schedule an appointment to allow you at least 24 hours to prepare the boat for shrink wrapping. The customer is responsible for dropping the canvas, removing and storing canvas bows, any antennas, and any other equipment that may protrude from the boat and interfere with shrink wrapping. Brookside Storage will be responsible for building the wood frame, running the belly band, shrink wrapping the boat, and installing air vents. Once the job is complete, the boat will be made available for inspection at which time payment will be due.

Our shrink wrapping service is $1.25 per square foot (length x width of boat). Extra tall boats will be subject to an extra fee. We provide up to two vents per boat. Additional vents can be purchased if desired.
